Hello, i've performed the reset following your video, even after 500KM driven it still appears the same message " Service interval display are not yet avaible" for how long should i drive until i get some new numbers after the new oil change,.

Having owned the previous generation A6, this issue nearly swayed me from buying the C6. I’ve had it for nearly 2 years no issues until yesterday i took the key out and heard a clonking from the column, i knew it was likely this issue. Luckily i found this vid, followed the steps but depinned the red and black wire right away so no more lock or worries! Thanks for taking time to make the video 👍🏻

I just bought a 2007 A6 with 160K Miles on it with several issues that I can't blame for the price. One of them was that the steering lock was reluctant to work once in a while so I figure it was only waiting for the most inappropriate opportunity to fail completely. Of course I followed your easy video now that I'm still on time. Thank you so much for spare me such a huge headache.

I'm guessing this procedure stops the micro switches and relays wearing down as the steering lock mechanism is never activated once power is cut. Great idea

Hello friends!. I have the same issue with my Audi A6 Quattro 2005. The steering wheel actually is unlock, but the car don´t start and when i put the key in the ignition nothing happens then. I like to do the action on the video descripted.

Finished yesterday the DIY Repair as you showed in the video, and I only can agree on everything you´ve done! I watched your video about 20x till I had everything in my mind, and even then watched beside. Flaps are our, Idle is fine. A bit less torque in the lower RPM, but tremendous sound even in lower RPM! On the upside though, it feels better on 3000+ RPM. Car runs smooth, no issues, no check engine at all. Keep it up man ;)

Hello Great video. My problem is a bit different a message came up saying please take load off steering and the car would not start. but the steering did not lock like it normally does. Instead when I put in key I hear the noise like it wants to unlock but twice. This was happening with the mmi screen coming on and the date signal on the dash coming on. After seeing on an Audi forum a post to turn steering wheel 180 degrees with foot on the brakes and try to start. Did this but to no avail. Unfortunatly now the mmi not coming on and no date signal on dash but still noise like it is trying to unlock but twice. any advise?

I have a q7 2006. Its stuck on bootloader . Thr CD changer works i used a vertabim dics as it was told is the best. In terms of the my issue its saying it failed to find metainfo on the mmi screen but on the cd1 i inserted it into my PC i only was only able to find metainfo2 on the file.

Did you disconnect the Batery before doing this job? Just asking out of curisousity.

If you have this problem AND an SRS warning light the most LIKELY issue is an expired SEATBELT BUCKLE SENSOR, 20 pound/25 dollars off ebay. One bolt, takes 5 minutes.

My 2012 Audi A6 Prestige has developed this problem. Too often when I attempt to start it after a day or two of not driving it ‐ with foot on brake I press the start/stop ignition button -- it fails to start, but provides message "Please Move Steering Wheel". I want to perform the procedure outlined in this video, but like I say my unit is a model year 2012 which puts it in the C7 level. Can I perform the instructions on this video to my 2012 A6 - C7? ADVISE!! PLEASE Jim
